Patrick "Pat" James Laverty (1955-2023) was a visionary in nuclear medicine and a passionate musician. Born in Scotland, Pat immigrated to the U.S. at the age of nine, where he pursued both his career and love for music. He founded Modern Nuclear, Inc. in 1988, revolutionizing medical imaging with innovations like California's first mobile SPECT unit. His contributions to nuclear medicine improved countless lives. Though his career flourished, music was always in Pat's heart. His debut album, Pony Rides, released June 20th 2024, captures moments from his life, from early songs like "Younger Daze" to his final piece written for his soon to be born grand daughter in 2020, "Zoe." Produced by Shantih Haast at Studio 770, the album reflects Pat’s love for storytelling through music.
